Filling a Gap
The conception of the SC2000 stemmed from a clear gap in the current manufacturing landscape: the absence of automation equipment capable of assembling our unique seed pods efficiently. Determined to fill this gap, our team collaborated to develop a concept that would not only enhance our manufacturing process but also set a new benchmark for precision and innovation in the field.
How It Works
At its core, the SC2000 is a complex feat of engineering, designed to handle racks of 50 seed pods or plugs with unmatched precision. The machine employs a robotic gantry system to create a small indentation, dubbed a 'dibble,' on the top of each pod. Through a meticulously designed vacuum system, a precise quantity of seeds is then dispensed into each dibble, followed by the addition of a biodegradable food sealant to ensure the seeds are securely locked in place.
Understanding the varied requirements of seed assembly, the SC2000 boasts a web interface that offers customizable settings, allowing users to tailor the assembly process to different types of seeds and pods. This flexibility is complemented by the machine's construction, which includes three different stepper motors, a 12V or 24V electric actuator, and a vacuum pump, all enclosed within a soundproof case to minimize noise and enhance the working environment.
Built In-House in Two Months
